HOW WE HELP

Understanding What’s Wrong
Especially at the age range we see the most, 14-23, most individuals know that there’s something wrong, but don’t know exactly what’s happening. Depression and Anxiety can cause mild to severe symptoms that often mirror other issues, and that’s something we can help clarify and educate them on.

Understanding What to do Next
Once someone is aware that they may be struggling with something, it becomes an issue of figuring out what to do about it. What is a psychologist, how do they differ from a psychiatrist, who should I talk to, and what about medication?

Our entire team is made up of people who have fought these issues and recovered, people who treat these issues in a clinical setting, and others that continue to research mental health. It’s from this place of expertise that we create recovery plans for those that contact us. Diet, exercise, and sleep are three basic areas that can usually immediately be worked on, but the next part of that comes down to us connect people with the right care. We create a personality profile for those that reach out to us, and we use that profile to match them with the perfect therapist within 10-15 mintues from their home. We also have an open community for them to join and get positive feedback on their journey.

Taking Care of the Elephant In the Room
It’s tough to understand and even accept that you may be dealing with anxiety and/or depression – perhaps even more issues. Once that part comes, it can be even harder to figure out what to do about it. So many people find themselves lost in the poor mental health care system – with tons of e-books pretending to have an instant cure, the myriad of herbal solution ads on Facebook, and then trying to navigate through all of the different types of therapists and therapeutic methods. Still, if they can find their way through all of that, the final wall to climb is the paywall. Therapy can be anywhere from $100-$220 a session, one to two session per week, and that’s typically a mandatory process. If medications are to be included, that’s $30 a bottle with insurance, or several hundred without. That’s not including the visit to your general practice doctor to get the prescription, nor the very expensive follow up with a psychiatrist.

To address this, our network of therapists can go as low as $30 a session for therapy. Our grant program completely covers the cost of care and medication for those who can’t afford $30 a session. We also have a team dedicated to Disability, Medicare, and Medicaid that will fight to get low-income families into each program – this can also include Section 8 house vouchers and EBT Foodstamps.

HOW CAN I HELP?

Anxiety Gaming is all about connecting gamers in need with gamers who are happy to help out. Whether you'd like to play video games with someone who may not have many friends to play with, have some extra change to donate towards the recovery of a fellow gamer (just $30 covers an entire week!), or have a few used games to donate to our foster kids, you will be directly supporting the community and changing lives!
